24-Hour Emergency Plumber in Orange, CA
Licensed & Insured | Upfront Pricing | Available 24/7
Emergency calls in Orange are the most varied work we do anywhere. Old Towne has 100-year-old homes where a burst pipe means opening walls layered with every material from a century of renovations. The Eichler homes in Fairhaven have copper tubing embedded in the slab — slab leaks here are a completely different project. Orange Park Acres has equestrian lots with long pipe runs. Every address needs a fresh diagnostic.
Most plumbing emergencies are manageable once you know what to do. We're here day, night, weekend, holiday — same team, same pricing, no surprises.
Here's what you need to know.
Is This a Plumbing Emergency?
Not everything needs an emergency call. Some things can wait until morning. Here's a quick way to tell.
Call Right Away
- Water is actively flowing and you can't stop it
- Sewage is backing up into your home
- You smell gas anywhere in the house
- A pipe has burst, you can hear it or see water coming through walls, ceiling, or floors
- Your water heater is leaking heavily or making popping sounds
- A toilet is overflowing and won't stop after the valve is closed
- There's standing water in your home that's spreading
Can Probably Wait Until Morning
- A slow drip from a faucet or under a sink (put a bucket under it)
- A toilet that runs but still flushes
- Low water pressure that's been gradual, not sudden
- A water heater that's producing lukewarm water but not leaking
- A single slow drain (try to avoid using that fixture until we can look at it)
When in doubt, call. We'll tell you honestly whether it needs immediate attention or whether it's safe to wait.
What to Do Right Now
Find your main water shut-off valve and turn it off
Check the garage, front exterior wall, or near the water heater. If seized, turn off at the meter at the curb.
Relieve pressure by opening a faucet
Open a faucet at the lowest point in the house to drain remaining water from the lines.
Move belongings away from the water
Furniture, electronics, personal items. The faster you get things out of standing water, the less damage.

Common Emergencies
Burst or Leaking Pipe
Orange is a three-era city, and burst pipe calls reflect that. In the oldest homes - Old Towne's pre-1940s inventory and the surrounding neighborhoods built through the 1950s - original galvanized steel supply lines are the most common culprit. These pipes corrode from the inside out, and after 70 to 80 years of service with the city's hard groundwater, the pipe walls thin until a pressure fluctuation opens a hole. Some of these homes have been partially repiped over the years, creating mixed systems where galvanized connects to copper, and those transition points are where we see a lot of the failures.
Sewer or Drain Backup
Sewer backups in Orange come back to two things: tree roots and old pipe materials. Old Towne has some of the most mature landscaping in the county. Century-old trees line the streets and fill the yards, and those root systems are extensive. Roots follow moisture right into the joints of aging clay and cast iron sewer lines, which are still in the ground throughout Old Towne and the surrounding pre-1970s neighborhoods.
Water Heater Failure
Water heater emergencies are one of the most common calls we get in this city, and the hard water is the main reason. The groundwater that supplies most of Orange carries more dissolved minerals than the imported surface water that other parts of the county rely on. That mineral content settles inside the tank as sediment, coats heating elements, and eats through anode rods faster than the manufacturer expects. A water heater rated for 10 to 12 years in average conditions may only last 7 to 9 years here without regular flushing.
Gas Smell or Suspected Gas Leak
Gas leaks in Orange homes are less common than water-related emergencies, but we see them regularly - especially with older gas appliance connections, corroded flex lines, and in the older homes where original gas piping has been extended or modified over the decades without full replacement. We are licensed for gas line work and can get everything tested and back up safely.
Why Orange Homes Produce the Emergency Calls They Do
There is a reason we have completed over 600 jobs in this city, and it comes back to how Orange was built. This is a three-era city. The first era is Old Towne and the surrounding neighborhoods - homes from the 1870s through the 1940s, with plumbing that has been in service for generations. The second era is the mid-century boom - the Eichler tracts, the postwar neighborhoods, the homes built from the late 1940s through the 1960s with copper supply lines and cast iron drains. The third era is the 1970s through 1990s development east of the 55 and along Santiago Boulevard.
Each era brought different materials, different construction methods, and different plumbing layouts. And all of them have been exposed to the same hard groundwater that the City of Orange draws from its wells.
The Old Towne Historic District adds another layer. Homes with preservation overlays sometimes require specific approaches to plumbing work that respect the historic character while bringing the systems up to modern standards. We have done this enough times to understand how to work within those guidelines.
Houses have patterns. Once you have seen enough of them, you start to recognize the signs. And knowing those patterns helps us respond faster and diagnose more accurately when you call.
What Happens When You Call
A real person answers the phone. We do not use an answering service.
We dispatch from our Lake Forest location - typically 15 to 25 minutes from most Orange neighborhoods depending on the time of day. Old Towne, the Eichler tracts, the Chapman area, Orange Park Acres - we know the routes and we know the neighborhoods.
When we arrive, we assess the situation, explain what we are seeing, and give you an upfront price before any work starts. Same pricing whether it is a Tuesday afternoon or a Saturday night.
We carry the parts and equipment to handle most emergencies on the first visit. If the situation needs a bigger solution - a full repipe, a sewer line replacement, a water heater swap - we will get you stabilized that night and schedule the permanent fix.

“5 stars all the way! I appreciate that the plumbers were able to make the stuck union on the gas meter loose so they could perform the gas leak detection test. Finally after 3 days the gas company is able to come to restore the gas back!”
