24-Hour Emergency Plumber in Corona del Mar, CA
Licensed & Insured | Upfront Pricing | Available 24/7
Emergency calls in Corona del Mar come with the coastal premium. Salt air corrosion shows up as burst flex lines on water heaters, failing hose bibs, and accelerated pinhole leaks in copper supply lines. Whether your emergency is on the older village cottages side of PCH or up on the bluffs, the pattern is familiar and we know how to stabilize it.
Most plumbing emergencies are manageable once you know what to do. We're here day, night, weekend, holiday — same team, same pricing, no surprises.
Here's what you need to know.
Is This a Plumbing Emergency?
Not everything needs an emergency call. Some things can wait until morning. Here's a quick way to tell.
Call Right Away
- Water is actively flowing and you can't stop it
- Sewage is backing up into your home
- You smell gas anywhere in the house
- A pipe has burst, you can hear it or see water coming through walls, ceiling, or floors
- Your water heater is leaking heavily or making popping sounds
- A toilet is overflowing and won't stop after the valve is closed
- There's standing water in your home that's spreading
Can Probably Wait Until Morning
- A slow drip from a faucet or under a sink (put a bucket under it)
- A toilet that runs but still flushes
- Low water pressure that's been gradual, not sudden
- A water heater that's producing lukewarm water but not leaking
- A single slow drain (try to avoid using that fixture until we can look at it)
When in doubt, call. We'll tell you honestly whether it needs immediate attention or whether it's safe to wait.
What to Do Right Now
Find your main water shut-off valve and turn it off
Check the garage, front exterior wall, or near the water heater. If seized, turn off at the meter at the curb.
Relieve pressure by opening a faucet
Open a faucet at the lowest point in the house to drain remaining water from the lines.
Move belongings away from the water
Furniture, electronics, personal items. The faster you get things out of standing water, the less damage.

Common Emergencies
Burst or Leaking Pipe
Burst pipe calls in this community come back to a few consistent patterns, and the coastal environment is the common thread. In the Flower Streets cottages from the 1930s and 1940s, we find original galvanized steel lines that have been carrying water for 80 or 90 years. They corrode from the inside out, and the salt air accelerates that process on every exposed fitting and connection. In Cameo Shores, Harbor View Hills, and Irvine Terrace - the 1960s and 1970s builds - copper supply lines are the standard, and after five or six decades of salt air exposure, pinhole leaks are what we see most. The corrosion patterns on copper this close to the ocean are more advanced than what we see even a mile inland.
Sewer or Drain Backup
The Village neighborhood along East Coast Highway and the Flower Streets have some of the oldest sewer laterals in the community - original clay and cast iron lines from the 1930s through the 1960s. Root intrusion is common where mature trees line the streets.
Water Heater Failure
Water heaters are our most-requested service in this community. Salt air is hard on water heater components. Anode rods break down faster in coastal environments. Tank linings deteriorate sooner. Connections and fittings that would last 15 years inland need attention years earlier here.
Gas Smell or Suspected Gas Leak
Gas leaks in Corona del Mar homes are less common than water-related emergencies, but we see them regularly. Outdoor kitchens and fire features are popular in the higher-end homes here, and those require proper gas line sizing. We also see corroded flex lines on older gas appliances where the salt air has been working on exposed fittings for years. We're licensed for gas line work and can get everything tested and back up safely.
Why Corona del Mar Homes Produce the Emergency Calls They Do
There's a pattern to the emergency calls we get from this community, and it starts with two things: the age of the housing stock and the ocean. The median home in CDM was built around 1974, but that number hides a lot of range. The Flower Streets go back to the 1930s. Cameo Shores and Harbor View Hills are 1960s. The Village has a mix of everything. And then there are brand-new custom builds on teardown lots.
What makes CDM different from an inland city with the same housing ages is the salt air. It accelerates corrosion on every metal surface - copper supply lines, galvanized pipes, water heater tanks, valve connections, exposed fittings. A copper pipe that might develop its first pinhole leak at 40 years in a city 10 miles from the coast might show the same pattern at 25 or 30 years here.
The other factor is the homes themselves. Corona del Mar is a premium community. The finishes, the fixtures, the custom work inside these homes - when a pipe bursts or a water heater fails, the collateral damage is proportionally larger. That's why we approach emergency calls here with an understanding of what's at stake, not just in the plumbing, but in everything around it.
Houses have patterns. Once you've seen enough of them, you start to recognize the signs. And knowing those patterns helps us respond faster and diagnose more accurately when you call.
